Missing Girl Found
Waterford –Yesterday at 5 p.m. a Pennsylvania State Police Spokesman confirmed that 15-year-old Marissa Lynn Steffy was found safe. The teen was missing after running away from her Waterford home on Monday, the 23rd. There were no details provided on where she was discovered, but she has returned to her family and home.
PA Heart and Soul Selects Venango Area
Franklin – The Venango Area, specifically Franklin, Cranberry, and Oil City are among the new communities that will benefit from the PA Heart and Soul program. PA Heart and Soul is a public/private partnership between the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s Department of Community and Economic Development, PA Humanities, the Community Heart and Soul Foundation, and others. Patronage by PA Heart and Soul involves a multi-year program including cash grants, training for city officials and employees, and developing community outreach programs, among others. Meadville is one of PA Heart and Soul’s earlier beneficiaries.
Allegheny College Honored by DOE
Washington, DC – Kelly Boulton, Allegheny College’s Director of Sustainability, was invited to a special summit in Washington DC to celebrate their success in the Department of Energy’s Better Buildings Challenge. Allegheny and only 20 other colleges and universities were invited to the summit, where Allegheny was recognized for achieving carbon neutrality and greatly reducing its energy consumption.
