Murder Victim’s Identity Revealed
Belle Valley – The identity of a woman whose body was discovered near Exit 29 on Interstate 90 has been revealed by investigators. 48-year-old Michelle Tayse of Nashville, Tennessee was the body discovered by Belle Valley firefighters who responded to a brush fire in the very early morning hours of last Friday. According to Erie County Coroner Lyell Cook, Michelle’s cause of death was multiple stab wounds.
The Pennsylvania State Police are working with the Nashville Police Department to investigate the murder; the working theory is that Michelle was killed in Tennessee and transported to Erie to be disposed of where they thought no one could identify her. The killer or killers used an accelerant to try and destroy her remains and caused a brush fire. The Pennsylvania State Police based in Erie are asking anyone who may have information to call them at (814)898-1641; they are particularly interested in any suspicious activity that may have been observed by anyone traveling or working around Exit 29 last Thursday night or Friday morning.
