Man KO’d by Crash with Deer
Centerville – A New York man was knocked unconscious by a collision with a deer on the day after Thanksgiving. According to the Pennsylvania State Police, Jeffery Cooley of Clymer New York was driving through Crawford County’s Athens Township early Friday morning when his SUV collided with the animal; the impact knocked him unconscious and he was tended to by Volunteers from Centerville Ambulance Service, but not taken to any hospitals. His SUV was disabled as a result of the crash.

School Delays and Closings in Region

PSP Holiday Traffic Enforcement
Harrisburg – The Pennsylvania State Police released their information about traffic enforcement during the Thanksgiving Holiday period. According to the State Police, they responded to 979 traffic accidents over the holiday and four of those accidents were fatal; 73 accidents involved drunk drivers, and 542 drivers were charged with DUI. Troop E which covers Crawford, Erie, Venango, and Warren Counties reported 10 injuries from 48 traffic accidents during the period and only one alcohol-related crash with 33 DUI citations. Troop D which includes Lawrence and Mercer Counties also reported 48 crashes with only three injuries, but they also reported nine crashes involving drunk drivers and 46 DUIs. The Pennsylvania State Police issued over 10,500 speeding tickets this year. These figures do not include information from local and municipal police forces, just the Pennsylvania State Police.
