Missing Child Found Dead, Suspect Arrested
Oil City – A missing child from Oil City was found dead in the basement of the apartment building where he lived, a suspect is in custody. The suspect is the mother’s boyfriend, Trevaughn Stribling-Jackson; he has been charged with the murder of the two-year-old victim as well as other crimes. Oil City Police discovered the child’s remains shortly after his mother reported him missing on Wednesday, she told police she had last seen her child Monday afternoon before leaving for work; when she returned late at night nine hours later he was gone, the suspect told her that the child was with some cousins in Erie. The Police found the young victim stuffed in a canvas bag that used to hold an air mattress, and tucked underneath a table in the basement of their apartment.
Stribling-Jackson, who fled from Washington County after being charged with robbery and other felonies, was denied bail in Venango County by Judge Matthew Kirtland. Court documents show he is currently charged with the aggravated assault of a minor less than 13 years of age, concealing the whereabouts of a child, and abuse of a corpse as well as homicide in the first degree. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for January 3rd and police are still investigating the case and may bring more charges.
PennDOT Closing DMVs for Holiday
Harrisburg – PennDOT has sent out reminders that all Driver’s License and Photo Centers will be closed tomorrow and on Monday for the Christmas Holiday. PennDOT can still offer almost a full suite of services online at DMV.PA.gov where residents can accomplish nearly everything short of photography and taking a driver’s test 24/7 with no extra fees.
