Meadville Medical Center Swatted
Meadville – Two calls to the police about active shooters in Meadville Wednesday morning were both false alarms. The Meadville City Police are investigating two Swatting incidents against Meadville Medical Center that were called in to local authorities on Wednesday morning around 11 a.m. According to information shared by Meadville Medical Center and MCPD: shortly after 10 a.m., credible threats were received to the people and property of Meadville Medical Center and shortly before 11 a.m. the first of two calls about active shooters in MMC campuses was made to police. First, the clinic on Alden Street was the target of a false report and then a second report was made about a shooter at the Terrace Street facility.
In each case, officers from MCPD and the Crawford County Sheriff’s Department responded quickly to the scene to secure the buildings and MMC security personnel locked the clinics down. In either case were there actual threats to the safety of any of the patients or caregivers at either one of the medical clinics. An investigation is ongoing.

Puzzle Challenge 2024
Oil City – There is still a very short window of time to register your team for the Oil City Library’s 2024 Puzzle Challenge. The third annual challenge will be held inside the Belle’s Letters Club and has room for up to ten teams of as many as four people in both the 500-piece and 1,000-piece puzzle divisions. The competition begins at noon sharp on Saturday and runs until 4:30. One Injured in Tuesday Night Shooting
New Castle – A man was shot twice on Tuesday night near Neshannok Village in the town of New Castle. Police say that 19-year-old Caden Cox was struck in the leg and shoulder when someone shot him at around 9 p.m. Tuesday night and they are looking for suspects in the crime. Caden was taken to a hospital in Youngstown Ohio for surgery after being wounded in the attack. State News: Woman Tortured Animals for Social Media
Upper Darby – An Upper Darby woman has been arrested by authorities for torturing and killing animals to get views and likes on her YouTube Channel. 28-year-old Anigar Monsee has been charged with four felony counts of aggravated cruelty to animals after authorities say she mutilated and killed chickens, pigeons, rabbits, and frogs while live streaming content on social media in a gross violation of Pennsylvania’s animal welfare laws. Monsee is being held in Delaware County Jail until she can raise $20,000 for bail.
