Meadville Introduces MeterEZ Digital Parking Payments
Meadville – Parking in Downtown Meadville has become more convenient for people who aren’t always carrying quarters, but it will come with a cost for that convenience. The City of Meadville has partnered with MeterEZ, the same company that handles parking in downtown Erie; using the MeterEZ application on a smartphone will allow anyone to pay digitally for any spot monitored by a parking meter in downtown Meadville, but will come with an additional processing fee of up to 40 cents. Man Injured in I-90 Crash
McKean – A man was severely injured when he crashed his commercial pickup on Interstate 90 in Erie County yesterday morning. According to crash scene investigators from the Pennsylvania State Police, the driver, who is only identified as being a 47-year-old man from Brooklyn New York, lost control of his truck and its towed trailer while traveling eastward through McKean Township, Erie County, and collided with two large trees. He was taken to UPMC Hamot where he had to undergo surgery for his injuries. The police report indicates he will be charged for careless driving.
Man had 3x the Legal Blood Alcohol Level in Deadly Crash
Saxonburg – According to records obtained by the Butler Eagle and Pittsburgh’s Action News 4, new details about a fatal October crash have come to light. A police report indicates that David Faulx had a blood alcohol level in excess of three times the legal Pennsylvania limit when he and his grandson Zane Rupert were killed in a head-on collision on October 14th of last year. According to the report Faulx had a blood alcohol level of .246 on the night he was driving with his grandson; he steered his vehicle into the path of a semi-truck while driving to the northwest of Saxonburg in Butler County.
Search for Missing Man Ends in Tragedy
Erie – A search for a missing Erie man has been ended by authorities after his remains were identified by a coroner last night. Police had asked for help finding 39-year-old Daniel Patrick York of Erie who had disappeared on Sunday night on his way to his father’s lake house in Harborcreek Township. His vehicle was discovered at the lakehouse but Daniel could not be located. His body was found in a wooded area not far from the lake house last night and Erie County Coroner Lyell Cook says there was no sign of trauma, an obituary posted to a funeral home’s website says Daniel lost his battle with addiction.
Man Beheads Own Father, Posts Video Online
Levittown – In State news, a Buck’s County man was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly decapitating his father. 33-year-old Justin Mohn has been charged with first-degree murder and abuse of a corpse after he posted a video on YouTube where he allegedly displayed his father’s severed head in a plastic bag. Mohn’s father was found beheaded at his Bucks County home in Levittown. Mohn allegedly claimed he was the leader of a militia and killed his father for being a traitor to the United States because he was a federal employee. Mohn also made threats toward President Joe Biden and other members of the government before he was arrested near Fort Indiantown Gap, about 100 miles away from the crime scene – police traced his cellphone to locate him.
