Tragic End to Amber Alert
Columbus Ohio – We have a sad update on an Amber Alert issued last Wednesday. On Friday morning, the body of five-year-old Darnell Taylor was discovered stuffed in a culvert in Franklin County Ohio; Darnell was the subject of an Amber Alert in Eastern Ohio and Western Pennsylvania. Pammy Maye, the suspect in the Amber Alert, revealed the location of Darnell to authorities after she was arrested in Cleveland on Thursday night. Maye was the foster mother and legal guardian of Darnell and it was her husband who called the police when she left with the boy at 3 a.m. Wednesday morning.
According to her husband, Maye was behaving erratically on Wednesday morning, claiming Darnell was dead and he could not find the child in his home before she left. Columbus Police Chief Elayne Bryant said that Pammy Maye is charged with kidnapping and child endangerment and may also be charged with murder; the latest available information says that she was undergoing a psychological evaluation in Cleveland.
