Man Found Dead Saturday
Oil City – Pathologists in Erie County will be performing an autopsy to determine the cause of death of a young man found near the Allegheny River in Oil City. 23-year-old Oil City resident Michael Austin was found dead late Saturday morning in Sage Run, a small stream that trickles into the Allegheny River near the Warehouse Mall. Witness accounts seem to indicate that the body was in rigor mortis when it was found, an indicator that they had been dead for more than 12 hours but less than a few days. The autopsy will take place this afternoon at about 1 o’clock and is intended to determine the cause of death; at this time police do not seem to be treating this as a suspicious incident.
Pennsylvania Sues Alleged Fake Internet Provider
Harrisburg – Attorney General Michelle Henry has filed a lawsuit on behalf of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania against what she alleges is a fake internet service provider in York County. The suit is filed against Davis Communications Internet Inc. and its owner David Davis; the AG alleges that Davis was conning rural York County residents into believing they were purchasing direct internet services from his company when they were actually being sold unauthorized access to business internet plans from another service provider. The suit claims Davis was selling access to these plans without the authorization of or disclosure to the legitimate service providers and also misleading the people who purchased access through him about their services and blaming frequent outages on his ‘customers’ by blaming them for data abuse. The suit seeks to prevent Davis from ever selling internet services within Pennsylvania again as well as restitution for his customers, civil penalties, and forfeiture of profits.
“This sham business allegedly targeted consumers off the traditional internet grid and in great need of reliable internet connections. My office will always take a stand against businesses that target vulnerable Pennsylvanians,” said Henry in a press release.
