Former Coach Arrested for Theft in North East
North East – A former wrestling and football coach in the town of North East is accused of stealing thousands of dollars from a youth sports organization. Christopher Galloway was once the coach of North East High School wrestling and an assistant football coach, he has been charged with theft by failure to make the required disposition of funds and other crimes after allegedly spending $8,632 and some change from the accounts of The North East Football Foundation. According to the North East Police Department, Galloway used the league’s bank accounts to pay for bars, clothes, bills, and even online gambling.
Commonwealth Court Approves Suit Against GOP
West Newton – A panel of judges from the Commonwealth Court ruled on Friday that a former staffer of the House Republican Caucus can move forward with a lawsuit against Pennsylvania’s Republican Party based on PA’s Whistleblower Laws. Marcel Nichole Ingram alleges she was fired from her job on the staff of Representative Eric Devanzo when she reported the presence of mold in his office in West Newton after being directed to test for its presence by a member of the caucus’s legal counsel. Ingram has also filed individual lawsuits against Rep Devanzo, and former Caucus Chairman Rep George Dunbar alleging violations of her First Amendment rights, but the court dismissed them.
