Car Hits Prisoner Van
Erie – Five people were injured when a vehicle hit a van transporting inmates from Erie County Courthouse to the Prison on Thursday morning. The van, which carried twelve inmates and was driven by a deputy, was hit on the driver’s side by a Nissan Altima at the intersection of Sassafras and West 9th streets at about 11:20 a.m. Five of the van’s passengers were taken by ambulance to be treated for minor injuries while the remaining seven were escorted into another transport. No deputies were injured, nor was the driver of the other vehicle, and all 12 inmates were accounted for.
State News, Four Die Attempting to Escape Police
Concord – A police pursuit led to a fiery crash that killed four people on Route 322 near Concord Pennsylvania on Wednesday Afternoon. The vehicle contained seven shoplifting suspects who fled from State Police after an attempted traffic stop and crashed into a concrete bridge barrier. The driver and three passengers, including a pregnant teenage girl, died as a result of the crash, troopers pulled three others out of the fire before they suffered life-threatening injuries. The driver, Isaiah Miller (20) Ikeam Rogers (20), and Kalyn Billups (21) died at the scene while 17-year-old Tyjana Motley, who was pregnant, died at the hospital.
