Woman Accused of Shaking Baby
Sharon – A 25-year-old woman has been charged with aggravated assault and child endangerment after doctors determined her three-month-old son was suffering from shaken baby syndrome. It’s alleged that Brittany Arnold of Sharon shook her baby sometime prior to the morning of April 6th when she called 9-1-1 to report that her child was breathing shallowly and pale. The infant was taken to UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh from Sharon Medical Center where physicians discovered he had fractured ribs and a brain bleed that led to seizures and brain damage; all indicative of shaken baby syndrome. Charges against Arnold were filed on Friday, court records do not indicate an arrest and no trial date has been set.
