Man Killed in Motorcycle Crash
Erie – Authorities released the name of a man killed in a motorcycle accident near Erie International Airport on Tuesday. 52-year-old Jayme Umland of Millcreek was DOA when first responders arrived at the scene of a lunch hour crash between a white Lincoln and a motorcycle between Shenk Avenue and Grant Street. Investigators say the car made a left turn in front of Mr. Umland, who was unable to avoid crashing into it.  There is no word as to whether the driver of the white car will be charged.

Happy Birthday to the Library
Meadville – The Meadville Public Library is celebrating its 145th Birthday on Friday and all are invited to attend. Join the library on the front lawn during the lunch hour from noon until 1 p.m. for a free cupcake, and to sing Happy Birthday to the library at about 12:30.  In the event of inclement weather, the Library’s Birthday Party will be held on the top floor. Celebrate 145 years of the Meadville Public Library from noon until 1 p.m. on Friday.

Three of Regions Hospitals may be for Sale
Dallas – Dallas Texas-based Steward Healthcare, which operates three hospitals across our region, filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy on Monday; part of their bankruptcy plans includes the potential sale of all three regional hospitals. In Ohio, Trumble Memorial Hospital in Warren and Hillside Rehabilitation Hospital in Howland, and in Pennsylvania, Sharon Regional Hospital could all potentially be for sale as part of the Chapter 11 restructuring.  According to Medical Properties Trust, the three Steward-operated hospitals in the Shenango Valley are worth about $116 million.
