Man Shoots at Couple
Seneca – An Oil City man was arrested earlier this month for allegedly shooting a revolver at a couple in Seneca. 58-year-old Carl Wilt had brought the weapon onto the couple’s property on Sunday, May 5th, and was asked to put it away or leave, but he refused and started a fight instead. The fight ended with Wilt driving away in his truck and firing four or five shots from the revolver. After his arrest, the Pennsylvania State Police claim they also found drugs and drug paraphernalia and that Wilt is a convicted felon who was not allowed to possess a firearm to begin with.

Miller Properties Pays Fine for ‘Self-Help’ Evictions
Warren – A Warren County landlord has settled with the state of Pennsylvania after admitting that he illegally shut off tenants’ water in an attempt to get them to move. Attorney General Michelle Henry reported that Miller Properties Group and its owner Jason Miller paid a fine of $500 and entered into an assurance of voluntary compliance with the Commonwealth that they would only follow legally mandated channels for removing tenants from properties in the future. Pennsylvania, like most states, has a legally defined eviction process and these kinds of ‘self-help’ evictions are against civil law. If you’re a renter and believe you are being forced out of a rental property by illegal measures please contact the Bureau of Consumer Protection at (1-800)525-7642 or visit AttorneyGeneral.gov.
