Police Standoff Ends Peacefully
Saegertown – The Pennsylvania State Police have a suspect in custody after an 8-hour-long standoff just outside of Saegertown on Wednesday night. Authorities have not commented on why the armed standoff began at about 6 p.m. Wednesday evening, but state troopers surrounded a trailer in Hayfield Estates Mobile Home Park and evacuated some neighbors while asking others to shelter in place. At around 2 a.m. this morning, the suspect willingly gave themselves up without further incident. This is a developing story and more details will be reported as they are released by police.

Oil Heritage Weekend
Oil City – Oil Heritage Festival began last night, and while some events had to be canceled due to a severe thunderstorm warning, much of the celebration continued as planned. The festival and festival-related events will continue all the way through Sunday evening and the forecasts predict that weather will be much more cooperative. Music Legend Visits Hometown
Townville – Country and Bluegrass Music Legend Jeannie Seely is returning to her hometown in Crawford County on Monday. Born Marilyn Jeanne Seely in 1940, she spent her formative years living in the Crawford County borough of Townville, and to Townville she will return on Monday and unveil a new Welcome to Townville sign that proudly proclaims that it is the home of Jeannie Seely at 6 p.m. Among Jeannie Seely’s career accomplishments is a 1966 Grammy Award for Best Female Vocals, in 1981 she became the first woman to host the Grand Ol’ Opry and she has performed there more than 5,000 times.

FDA Warning: Listeria Contamination
Grove City, Youngstown – The FDA has issued a recall warning on some fruits and vegetables that were sold in stores in Grove City Pennsylvania and Youngstown Ohio due to potential contamination with Listeria. The recall began with cucumbers but has since been extended to several other items of produce from Ohio-based Wiers Farm which has voluntarily issued the recall. Locally, the recall affects cucumbers and green bell peppers, both bagged and whole, that were sold at Grove City Country Market and Mixed Vegetable Boxes sold at Youngstown Food Bank locations with packaging dates from July 5th to July 12th; if you still have these items dispose of them and if you have consumed any of the affected products and experience stomach pain, fever, and muscle aches you should seek immediate medical attention.
