Load Traps Trucker inside Vehicle
Conway – First responders in Beaver County had to enlist the help of a crane company to rescue the driver of a semi-truck that became pinned by his load of steel beams. On Saturday in the town of Conway, a truck driver was trapped inside his tractor when the load of steel beams he was ferrying shifted and pierced through the back of his cab, pinning him in place. The driver, who has not been identified, was reportedly in good spirits as firefighters and EMTs worked to free him from the steel beam that had pushed him against the steering wheel of his vehicle; he was transported to a hospital, and at press time there is no information on his status. Route 65 was closed much of the afternoon for cleanup.
Man Killed When Tractor Rolls
Cambridge Springs – Crawford County Coroner Eric Coston declared a Cambridge Springs man dead yesterday evening after his tractor rolled over and pinned him beneath it. At 6:45 Monday evening emergency services were dispatched to Greytown Hills Road in Crawford County for a man trapped beneath a tractor. It appears that the man was attempting to tow a brush hog that had become bogged down in an overgrown ditch when his tractor rolled over on top of him. At press time the victim’s identity has not been released publically and no official cause of death was stated.
Titan Gas Pays for Violating Do-Not-Call List
Harrisburgh – Texas-based energy company Titan Gas will pay the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania nearly $200,000 for violating the terms of a 2019 agreement that prohibits them from contacting PA residents on the Do-Not-Call List. According to Attorney General Michelle Henry, Titan Gas, using the guise of CleanSky Energy solicited more than 2.7 million phone calls to people on the Do-Not-Call List since signing on to the agreement. Around $160,000 of the money will be offered to hundreds of consumers who contacted the AG about the calls.
