Man Charged for Battering Children
Meadville – A Hayfield Township man was arrested by the Pennsylvania State Police for allegedly assaulting his children. On Monday, Tyler Acker was charged with aggravated assault and endangering the welfare of children after his month-old daughter was taken to Meadville Medical Center with unexplained facial injuries; the baby’s condition was so severe she was airlifted to UPMC Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh. Acker has also been charged with a second count of assault against his five-year-old daughter. He remains in Crawford County Jail on $200,000 bail. 

Arnold Police Chief Charged
Arnold – The Office of Pennsylvania Attorney General Michelle Henry has filed official criminal charges against a chief of police in Washington County. Joshua Stanga of Arnold was put on administrative leave in August and on Thursday was officially charged with misdemeanors for falsifying records, tampering with evidence, and theft, among other crimes. When suspicions were raised about Stanga’s integrity the State Police set up an investigation that they say found him pocketing money discovered in a supposedly abandoned vehicle and misreporting the amount there. Stanga claims he was set up, but he will fight the charges standing up.

Stolen Lawnmower
Columbus – The Pennsylvania State Police are searching for leads in the theft of a nearly $7,000 lawnmower from a home in Warren County. Outside the village of Columbus, a 2022 Hustler Raptor XD Zero Turn lawnmower was taken from a home on Route 957 sometime between August 30th and September 2nd.  The lawnmower is yellow and black in color and has a 60-inch deck. Anyone with information is asked to call the Pennsylvania State Police in Corry at (814)663-2043.

Boy, 4, Identified after Death in Fire
Erie – The name of a four-year-old boy who died in an east Erie Housefire has been revealed by Erie County Coroner Lyell Cook. Julian Roberts was killed by a fire that started in the living room of his home in the early morning hours of Friday, September 6th, his 11-year-old brother was rescued by neighbors who broke a second story window to extract him. The ATF has become involved in the investigation into the cause of the fatal fire, they are analyzing materials gathered from the point of origin for possible causes.
