Second Appeal Denied for Sandusky
State College – On Thursday, Pennsylvania’s Superior Court upheld an appeals court ruling rejecting Jerry Sandusky’s appeal for a second trial. In its decision the court ruled along the same lines as the lower court, determining that Sandusky’s lawyers had not provided new evidence that would likely result in a different verdict than his 2012 conviction for child rape and other crimes. The 80-year-old Sandusky is not eligible for parole for another 18 years; he has been attempting to get a new trial since he was convicted of 45 charges of child sexual abuse and sentenced to 30 to 60 years.
