Man Attacks Girlfriend in Car on I-79
Grove City – 24-year-old Brandon Johnson of Franklin has been charged with felonies and misdemeanors related to the alleged assault of his on-again-off-again girlfriend while in Mercer County. According to the Pennsylvania State Police, at around 3:30 a.m. on Sunday, September 22nd, as the couple was driving home from Pittsburgh Johnson, who was driving, attacked his girlfriend in her sleep because he didn’t like the messages on her phone. Police say he strangled and beat her while still traveling on the Interstate; he was arrested by State Police in Mercer County’s North Springfield Township and has been released on bail.
Gary Hulihan Allowed Release on Bond
Corry – With the help of a bondsman, Gary Hulihan of Corry was allowed to post bail and leave Erie County Jail on Thursday. Hulihan is 72 years old and has been charged with criminal homicide after Police say he shot and killed his own son, Patrick, during an argument at his house on August 11th. After the shooting, he drove his wounded son to Corry Memorial Hospital where he died from his injuries. Court records show a professional bondsman put up the $100,000 for his release and Hulihan will return to court on December 10th. Hulihan was eligible for the bond after the Erie County District Attorney decided not to charge him with first-degree murder, he is still charged with criminal homicide, aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, and more.
