Psychic Charged wit Fraud
Mars – In Butler County, a woman is being charged with stealing around $10,000 from a single victim through deception by posing as a psychic reader. Police say Sophia Ashley Williams of Adams Township asked a woman for increasingly large amounts of money as well as jewelry and other valuables over a three-month period since June; claiming they would keep them safe in their sanctuary to protect her from the financial jealousy of their ancestors. Police became involved when Williams failed to return the valuables upon request.
