Election Day 2024
Today is the day of the 2024 election, aside from the President of the United States there are also statewide races for the United States Senate, and Pennsylvania’s Attorney General, Auditor General, and Treasurer. The Presidential race has four candidates including the front runners Democrat Kamala Harris and Republican Donald Trump; the Libertarian Party has Chase Oliver, and Jill Stien represents the Green Party.
For the United States Senate the incumbent is Robert Casey Jr of the Democratic Party, he faces Republican Dave McCormick, Libertarian John Thomas, Leila Hazou of the Green Party, and Constitutional Party candidate Marty Selker.
Michelle Henry is not running for a second term as Attorney General, so Democrats have picked Eugene Depasquale as their candidate and Republicans have picked Dave Sunday, Robert Cowburn is the Libertarian Candidate, the Green Party candidate is Richard Weiss, Justin Magill represents the Constitution Party, and the Forward Party candidate is Eric Settle.
Republican Tim Defoor is the incumbent Auditor General he faces Democrat Malcolm Kenyatta, Libertarian Reece Smith, Eric Anton of the Solidarity Party, and the Constitution Party candidate Bob Goodrich.
Finally, Stacy Garrity of the Republican Party is the incumbent Treasurer of Pennsylvania, her Democratic opponent is Erin McClelland, Nickolas Ciesielski is the Libertarian candidate, Troy Bowman from the Constitutional Party, and Chris Foster of the Forward Party.
There are also elections for your district’s state and federal representatives in the Pennsylvania and United States House.
Polling locations open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m., but anyone standing in line by 8 p.m. will be allowed to cast their ballots; also please remember that if you are one of the thousands of Erie County residents who did not receive a mail-in ballot due to technical difficulties you have a right to cast a provisional ballot in person at your designated voting location; the same is true for anyone who’s mail-in ballots were rejected for any reason. If you are voting at your location for the first time or if you are casting a provisional ballot you will need to provide identification.
