Teen Leads Police on Chase
Linesville – A 19-year-old Ohio man has been charged with felonies in both Pennsylvania and Ohio after crashing his vehicle while being chased across state lines by police. William Smith of Andover Ohio was captured by troopers from the Pennsylvania and Ohio State Police on November 9th when he rolled his sedan in Conneaut Township Crawford County, ending a chase that began in Ashtabula County. In Pennsylvania, he faces multiple summary and misdemeanor charges and one felony charge for fleeing and eluding police, he faces further felonies in Ohio. At press time, Smith was in Crawford County Jail, unable to post bail.

Unemployment Rate Unchanged for 13 Months
Harrisburg – According to the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry, the Commonwealth’s unemployment rate has remained at 3.4% for a staggering 13 months. The unemployment rate remained unchanged through October and still well below the national average of 4.1%. L&I reports that this is the lowest and steadiest unemployment rate since 1976. For the first time this year, PA did not set new records for the total number of employed residents.
