New Year’s Eve Shooting Kills Woman, Injures Man
Erie – Two people were shot while leaving a New Year’s Eve Party in the city of Erie. Shortly after 12:30 a.m. on New Year’s Day when a 20-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman were shot while leaving a party on West 19th Street. According to Erie Police, it was around 12:30 a.m. on New Year’s Day when a male and female victim were taken to UPMC Hamot; the woman was struck in the head and was in critical condition and has since died from her wounds as of Friday morning. The male victim was released on New Year’s Day after being treated for leg wounds. Detectives from the Erie Police Department are using security camera footage from the area to develop suspects and anyone with information should contact Detective Sergeant Ronald Pilarski at (814)720-1229 or Detective David Madurski at (814)720-1508.

Meadville 1825 is a series of 25 events celebrating the bicentennial of that pivotal year in Meadville’s history.
