Police Seak Pizza Hut Robber
Union City – Police are investigating after an armed robbery at a Pizza Hut in Erie County. Just before 6:30 on Tuesday night a man used a firearm to threaten customers and employees at the Pizza Hut on the corner of North Main and Putnam Street in Union City, demanding cash from the register. The suspect fled the scene on foot down Putnam Street. Witnesses described the man as wearing all black clothing with an orange ski mask but there was no physical description provided. Anyone with information is urged to call the Union City Police at (814)438-3441 and then dial 2 to leave a message if nobody answers.
US Attorney for Western PA Resigns
Pittsburgh – Eric Olshan, United States Attorney for the Western District of Pennsylvania has resigned, effective midnight on Monday. Olshan was nominated for the role by President Joe Biden in 2023 and is resigning less than two years into the position; he did not cite any reason. Olshan’s short stint as US Attorney saw the successful death sentence prosecution of Tree of Life Shooter Robert Bowers and more robust enforcement of hate crime laws. First Assistant US Attorney Troy Rivetti will take over in as acting lead attorney.
