Gunman, Officer, Dead After Hospital Attack
York – In state news, an armed shooter was killed at a York County Hospital on Saturday, the exchange of fire also claimed the life of one police officer. The gunman entered the Intensive Care Unit at UPMC Memorial Hospital over the weekend to take hostages, apparently distraught over the death of a relative in that same wing. He injured three hospital employees before attempting to leave with a hostage and was killed after a firefight with police officers, Officer Andrew Duarte of West York PD was also killed during the exchange. News Live follows a policy of not naming gunmen shortly after attacks but the identity of the shooter is known.

Police Investigate Failed Arson
Nanticoke – Also in state news, police are trying to identify a suspect who was caught on camera attempting to firebomb a Pennsylvania State Representative’s office on Wednesday night. In Luzern County, a man was caught on camera lighting and throwing what appeared to be two bottles of flammable liquid at the office of State Representative Alec Ryncavage in a plaza in Nanticoke. The firebombs either burned out quickly or failed to catch fire at all and nobody knew about the attempt until checking security footage the next morning. Footage of the attempted bombing was released on Friday in hopes it could help lead police to a suspect.
