Solar Company Sues Crawford County Township
Cochranton – Rockland Solar Energy has filed a lawsuit against East Fairfield Township, Crawford County, alleging municipal extortion and bribery, sunshine act violations, and other misdeeds on behalf of township officials. The 34-page lawsuit that was filed in Federal Court on Wednesday claims that East Fairfield Township Supervisors and Solicitors violated multiple Pennsylvania State Laws by not holding hearings about zoning requests related to the construction of a commercial solar farm, or by holding the hearings beyond the state-mandated deadlines and without informing the company. Rockland also claims that township officials attempted to acquire $150 million in usage fees over the solar farm’s expected lifespan, among other questionable and illegal practices.

Search for Missing Woman Becomes Homicide Case
Meadville – A missing person’s investigation opened in 2022 has also become a homicide investigation, according to the Pennsylvania State Police. In August of 2022, 61-year-old Debra Daniel of Meadville was declared missing, and a coordinated investigation between the Meadville Police Department and Pennsylvania State Police was begun; new details have led authorities to change their timeline for when Debra went missing and begin investigating her disappearance as a homicide.
