State Shuts Down Two NWPA Gaming Companies
Harrisburg – Two gaming companies that distributed illegal gambling machines across the region have agreed to dissolve as part of a settlement agreement with the state of Pennsylvania. JJ Amusements and Buffalo Skills Games Inc. distributed a total of 400 illegal gambling machines in 60 locations in Erie, Crawford, Venango, Butler, Allegheny, Beaver, Cambria, Indiana, Somerset, Washington, Armstrong, and Westmoreland counties. Both companies agreed to dissolution and the forfeiture of over $5 million in assets as part of a plea deal with the commonwealth. The two companies provided unregulated ‘skills games’ to unlicensed businesses.

Former Fire Chief Accused of More Fraud
Greensburg – A former fire chief who’s already in custody for stealing almost $200,000 from his department is now also charged with embezzling funds from a cemetery. Matthew White, former chief of the Greensburg Fire Department in Westmoreland County, is now charged with stealing nearly $300,000 as the Superintendent of the St. Clair Cemetery Association. They say White took the funds by overpaying his own salary, giving himself commissions, and using the cemetery’s bank accounts for himself.

Robobots Battle Their Bots Off
Meadville – Saturday morning, students from a dozen Northwest PA schools will converge at Meadville High School to battle their bots off! In the Meadville High School Gymnasium, the National Tooling and Machining Association of Northwestern Pennsylvania presents the 2026 RoboBots tournament. Over the past several months, students from high schools across Crawford, Mercer, Erie, and Venango Counties have been perfecting their own combat machines to chop, cut, wedge, and smash their opponents in the Robobots Arena. The contest begins at 9 a.m. and ends when one champion is crowned.
