ORAS Presents: The Moon
Cranberry – In the wake of the Artemis II mission, the Oil Region Astronomical Society (ORAS) wants to present you with The Moon. Saturday evening, starting at 6:30 p.m. in the Bedow Memorial Observatory at 4249 Camp Coffman Road in Cranberry, ORAS will open its doors to the public for a free presentation on Earth’s one and only moon. The presentation itself will begin at around 7:00 p.m., led by ORAS Vice President Dean Miskovich, an avid astronomer of 60 years. You can learn about the moon, how it was formed, its history, and how our closest neighbor affects our little blue planet every day.
Weather permitting, ORAS will also allow the public to view the heavens through the observatory’s 30-inch telescope. If you cannot make it in person, the event will also be available over Zoom. More details at their website, ORAS.org.

Literary Coffee House Saturday
Meadville – Over 20 local authors will be featured at a Literary Coffee House tomorrow, at the Lew Davis Community Center in Meadville. For a $10 donation to the Inspired Youth Writing Contest, you get two drinks, two delicious desserts, and access to local authors who would be happy to talk about their works, and more. Events at the symposium include meet and greets with the local writers, trivia contests, writing workshops, and more. Come speak with local published authors and buy signed copies of their works, learn about what it takes to be a successful author, sample some of Meadville’s most delicious drinks and desserts, and even listen to storytelling sessions.
The Literary Coffee House begins at 12:30 Saturday afternoon and ends approximately 4 hours later at the Active Aging Center in the Lew Davis Community Center, 1034 Park Avenue in Meadville. Children 14 and under can enter free if accompanied by an adult; proceeds benefit the Inspired Youth Writing Contest.
