2026 NWPA Regional Planning and Development Survey
Oil City – The Northwest Pennsylvania Regional Planning and Development Commission is still looking for residents and business owners willing to take a survey that will help shape the future of NWPA. The commission is looking for help forming a comprehensive economic development strategy for Clarion, Crawford, Erie, Forest, Lawrence, Mercer, Venango, and Warren Counties, and you can help by taking a quick survey. The survey ranges from 15 questions for residents to 25 for business owners and only takes a few minutes to complete.
Feedback on the survey will help the Development Commission to inform its plans for quality of life, outdoor recreation, infrastructure, internet development, business, and more. For more information, contact Dr. Tammy Dulaney at (814)677-4800 ext. 118, or email TammyD@NorthwestPA.org.
Mercer Athlete Breaks School Record
Mercer – A standout runner for Mercer High School broke a program record at a meet over the weekend. Senior Maggie Jewell finished in first place with a time of 11 minutes and 2 seconds in the 3200-meter dash at Saturday’s Hermitage Invitational track meet. 3200 meters is about two miles. Maggie’s run time breaks two records, beating the Mustang’s school record by nearly 3.5 seconds and also overshadowing the Hermitage Invitational’s previous record. Maggie is already an accomplished runner; last year, she was a state champion when she placed first in Girls 1A Cross Country.
