Venango County 4-H Fundraiser
Franklin – The Venango County 4-H Craft Show happens this Saturday, May 2nd, at the Venango County Fairgrounds from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Over 40 vendors are registered to attend with wares ranging from crochet to woodworking, lotions, candles, baked treats, and much more. The Craft Show is free to attend, and snacks and lunches will be available from the 4-H booth. The menu includes a variety of snacks, beverages, and entrees, each priced at under $5.

All proceeds from the 4-H booth benefit the Venango County 4-H Development Committee and also provide support for the Venango County 4-H program. Funding helps youth with scholarships to 4-H programs across the county, region, state, and even the nation. Meadville’s Arbor Day Celebration
Meadville – The Meadville Shade Tree Commission Celebrates Arbor Day at the Baldwin-Reynolds House and Museum tomorrow at noon. The Commission is honoring America 250 this year, and the ceremony will include a proclamation from Mayor Jaime Kinder, presentations from multiple experts on a variety of topics related to conservation, and a plant giveaway from the Crawford County Master Gardeners. At the end of the presentation, Mick Stabile of Stabile Arborcare will plant trees donated by First Energy’s GreenTeam.
2025, Safest Driving Year
Harrisburg – PennDOT reports that last year was the least dangerous year for Pennsylvania Drivers in history. In the nearly 100 years since PennDOT began collecting data on traffic accidents, 2025 was the safest year on record. Traffic fatalities were lower last year than even during the pandemic, according to figures released by PennDOT on Wednesday. 2025 also had the second-lowest number of reportable traffic accidents. PennDOT Secretary Mike Carroll says that “…Pennsylvania remains committed to moving toward zero deaths on our roadways.”
