Mimi Finds a Home and Putting for Paws
Erie – ANNA Shelter of Erie happily announced earlier this week that Mimi, a severely abused dog that was left for dead with her paws bound in zip ties, has officially been adopted by her foster family. Her abuser, 63-year-old Roy King of Harborcreek pleaded guilty to two counts of felony animal cruelty and was sentenced on August 4th to 18 to 36 months in state prison. Mimi was taken to a critical care specialist, where she spent weeks in recovery and was actually fostered by one of the employees there. Mimi will never completely recover from her ordeal and will need persistent medical care and special handling for the rest of her life, which she will get from the trained professional who officially became her family on Monday.
This Sunday, Anna Shelter will host their second annual Putting for Paws fundraiser at Mound Grove Golf Course in Waterford. Registration costs $100 and starts at 9 a.m. with a tournament starting at 10. Registration is limited to 120 contestants and includes breakfast, hot dogs after the turn, and a full dinner plus swag bags, skill holes, and more. Call the Pro Shop at (814)796-2767 for more information.
