Missing Teen Found
Emlenton – A missing Venango County Teenager has been found, according to the Pennsylvania State Police. The PSP Barracks in Franklin sent out a notification at about 4 p.m. on Tuesday, revealing that 17-year-old Joana McCracken had been found earlier in the day and was no longer missing. Troopers did not provide any information about where the girl was found or where she had been. The search for Joana began on Monday evening and lasted about 22 hours.
Woman Pleads Guilty to Homicide
Erie – Last week, Marisa Rodriguez pleaded guilty, but mentally ill, to the 2023 murder of Michael Maisner in Erie County’s Summit Township. Rodriguez admitted to shooting, dismembering, and then burning the remains of the 66-year-old man, and she pleaded guilty to all 10 crimes she was charged with. Charges included third-degree murder, abuse of a corpse, access device fraud, and several others. The 37-year-old faces between 40 and 80 years of prison time when she is sentenced on October 13th.
Police Need Help Solving Burglary
Corry – Authorities are asking for help in developing leads in their investigation of a burglary. On Sunday, between 4 and 7 p.m., an unknown person or persons entered into a house near the Corry State Fish Hatchery on Route 6 in Erie County’s Wayne Township by breaking through a back door. While inside, the intruders took several items of personal property that were not itemized. Anyone who was in the area during that time and may have information should contact the Pennsylvania State Police in Corry at (814)663-2043.
Celebration Meadville this Weekend
Meadville – Meadville NAACP Chapter #2271 hosts their annual Celebration Meadville this Saturday, August 30th, at the Diamond Park in Meadville. This year’s celebration kicks off at 10 a.m. sharp and features live entertainment, treats and activities for everyone, the Diamond Dunk 3 on 3 basketball tournament, and more. This year will also feature a variety of craft vendors starting at 5 p.m., and representatives from many local organizations that make this community such a great place to live. As always, Celebration Meadville will end with the community jam session and street dancing at 9 p.m.
