Kidnapper Surrenders to Police
Erie – Jafar Almaarej, suspect in the kidnapping of his seven-year-old daughter, turned himself in to the Millcreek Township Police on Wednesday. The Dearborn, Michigan, man was arraigned Wednesday evening on felony charges of kidnapping and interfering with the custody of a child, and one misdemeanor charge for terroristic threats. He is currently being held in the Erie County Jail on $100,000 bail. His daughter has been reunited with her mother.

PNC Pavilion Opens at the MARC
Meadville – This Saturday, during the 8th Annual ReMARCable Festival, the Meadville Area Recreation Complex will officially reveal its brand new 900-seat amphitheater named PNC Pavilion. PNC Pavilion will be a centerpiece of this year’s ReMARCable festival with a ribbon cutting and an inaugural concert performed by favorite local bands, 50 Miles to Empty and the Riffriders. This year’s ReMARCable Festival takes place from noon until 5 p.m. this Saturday and features carnival games, food trucks, free hot dogs, and more. Admission is free for the first 300 visitors.
