Man Tells Cops to Shoot Him During Arrest
Greenville – A Crawford County man on an alleged crime spree in Mercer County’s Otter Creek Township is being jailed with $250,000 bail after his arrest on Monday. Michael Chase of Conneautville is being accused of stealing an SUV in Crawford County, traveling to Mercer County, and committing multiple felony and misdemeanor crimes. One eyewitness states that they watched Chase break into their car, and that he even informed them he was trying to steal it. Chase was arrested after a short pursuit by State Police Troopers ended with him crashing, throwing bricks at the officers, and demanding to be shot. The five felony charges filed against Chase include first and second-degree felonies for aggravated assault of a police officer, receiving stolen property, and criminal attempts at theft.

Former Prison Guard Charged with Rape and Identity Theft
Harrisburg – Pennsylvania Attorney General Dave Sunday announced charges against a former guard at the state prison in Forest County. The AG alleges that from 2020 to 2023, while working at SCI Forest, a woman named Kristina Miller used her position of authority to bully at least three inmates into sexual relationships; she also used her access to prison records to steal the identities of several others for some kind of fraud scheme with an unnamed co-conspirator. The 35-year-old from McKean County has been charged with multiple felonies for institutional sexual assault and unlawful use of a computer, and numerous misdemeanors.
