Mass Resignations at Fire Department
Atlantic – A mass resignation has left a Crawford County Fire Company with less than half its membership, and almost none of its leadership. On Tuesday, 10 of 17 members of the Fallowfield Volunteer Fire Department resigned, including the Chief, Deputy Chief, President, and Vice President. Former Chief Jacob Saulsbery told reporters that they all felt the resignation was necessary to wake people up to the years-long issues between the department and the townships of East and West Fallowfield. Over the last three years, there has been no formal agreement between the department and the townships it serves, and neither township has contributed to the operating costs of the department; Township Supervisors have also made a habit of not attending meetings of the fire department.

Several Schools Delayed by Weather
NWPA – A winter weather advisory and winter storm warning persist today. Weather conditions are also affecting travel. PennDOT has added and lifted restrictions on Interstate Highways in the region several times over the last few days. Police Seek Hit-and-Run Suspect
Erie – Authorities in Erie are asking for help identifying a suspect in a fatal hit-and-run on Tuesday night. Just before 7 p.m. on Tuesday, a 66-year-old man suffered fatal injuries when he was struck by an orange or red truck or SUV at the intersection of West 8th and Liberty Streets while riding his bicycle. The driver of the vehicle fled the area. Investigators are reviewing surveillance video of the area and asking for any witnesses to contact them by calling Corporal John Stevens at (814)870-1419.

Preliminary Hearing Postponed for Confessed Killer
Saegertown – Clinton Rogers, who allegedly confessed to the 1981 murder of his wife, Lonene, has been transferred across the state to the Crawford County Jail, but his preliminary hearing has been delayed. Rogers, formerly of Saegertown, has had his first court date moved to Thursday, December 17th. He reported Lonene missing in January of 1981, and for more than 44 years, nobody could prove what happened. Rogers allegedly confessed to her murder at a police station in Indiana County the day before Thanksgiving.
