Parole Officer Charged in Death of Erie Man
Erie – Erie County District Attorney Elizabeth Hirz announced that a parole officer has been charged with homicide in the July death of Marchello Woodard. Kevin Seelinger of Edinboro, a State Parole Officer, turned himself in to the Pennsylvania State Police on Friday morning before the charges were made public. On July 2nd, Marchello was shot and killed after he drove away from Seelinger, who had approached his car in the dark for a compliance check. Seelinger is officially charged with criminal homicide, aggravated assault, and reckless endangerment, along with summary offenses.

Majority Ownership of Penguins to Change
Pittsburgh – A Pennsylvania sports team may be under new ownership, pending league approval. Fenway Sports Group announced on Friday that it had made a deal with Hoffman Family Companies to sell a majority share of the Pittsburgh Penguins. The deal still needs approval from the NHL before it can go forward. Fenway Sports Group has held the controlling interest in the Penguins since 2021 and will still be a minority partner in the franchise as part of the deal. Penguins’ management and leadership is supposed to remain unchanged.
