Fire Injures two Responders
Erie – Two firefighters were injured battling a large structure fire at an Erie business complex on Saturday afternoon. A building on Industrial Drive that contained an auto repair shop, a sign store, and a gym caught fire on Saturday afternoon, prompting a response from six separate fire departments as the fire spread out of control. A collapsed roof sent two firefighters to the hospital, and crews were forced to work outside. Both firefighters were released from the hospital by Sunday.

Severe Weather for the First Half of This Week
Northwest PA – The weather is news again. Ahead of New Year’s Eve, the National Weather Service has issued multiple warnings and advisories affecting Northwest PA, Northeast Ohio, and Southwestern New York. Advisories and warnings include a Winter Storm Warning, High Wind Warnings and Advisories, Lake Effect Snow, Flood Watches, and Winter Weather Advisories. Former Teacher Charged for Theft of School Funds
Edinboro – A former employee of the General McClane School District was arraigned last Monday for charges of theft. Police allege that she stole more than $18,000 from the school district. Meghan Chelton of Waterford resigned from the school district in 2023 after admitting to the theft of $140 from a cash box in the school’s main office. After a multi-year investigation, the Pennsylvania State Police allege that Chelton had stolen nearly $18,500 from a 100% donation driven fund set aside to assist teachers in the event of an emergency. District Superintendent Dr. Matt Lane says the district is cooperating in further investigations.
