Police Officer Receives Summary Citations for Deadly Crash
Erie – An Erie Police Officer has been cited after an investigation into a September crash that killed a resident. Police Sergeant Shawn Stafford has been charged with summary offenses, but no crimes, after nearly four months of investigation into a September 12th crash at the intersection of West 11th and Sassafras Streets. The crash killed 41-year-old Matthew Zaborowski and also injured a pedestrian, who suffered from a broken leg.  The citations for careless driving leading to unintentional death and failure to stop at a red signal carry a maximum fine of $525 plus court costs.

Derrick Publishing to Close
Oil City – Three local newspapers will be printing their final issues as the Derrick Publishing Company closes down. The Derrick Publishing Company has decided to close after a planned sale fell through. The dissolution of the company will end the run of three local newspapers that have been in circulation since the 19th century: Oil City’s The Derrick, Franklin’s News Herald, and the Clarion News. The Clarion News will print its final paper on the 26th of this month, while the Derrick and the News Herald will end on March 20th.
