Child Found on Sidewalk After Falling from Window
Erie – An Erie mother is facing felony charges for child endangerment and other crimes after a five-year-old child was found cold and freezing in her pajamas outside of an Erie home on Thursday morning. The girl had fallen out of a second-story window and could not get back inside; she was discovered by Manuel Gonzalez Jr, a driver for a garbage collection company, who put her in the cab of his truck to keep her warm while someone called the police. After being evaluated at a hospital, the girl and her five siblings are now in the custody of their grandparents.

Cursive Writing Lessons Become Law
Harrisburg – On Wednesday, Governor Josh Shapiro signed legislation requiring Pennsylvania Schools to teach cursive by law. The author of the new law and cursive handwriting advocates cite multiple reasons why it’s important for students to learn cursive writing. State Rep. Dane Watro, who wrote the bill, says that it is important to learn handwriting to be able to read historical documents and that it has cognitive and motor skills benefits. Pennsylvania is now the 25th state to mandate teaching cursive writing in schools.
