Police Standoff Ends Without Violence
Harborcreek – On Wednesday, after a five-hour standoff with the state police, a man barricaded inside a Harborcreek Home surrendered without anyone being harmed. Eugene Walker surrendered to the Pennsylvania State Police at about 5:20 p.m. Wednesday evening after a siege that began around noon. The incident started when the resident called the police about Walker being an intruder in her home. She told police he had physically assaulted her multiple times in the past. Troopers from the Pennsylvania State Police in Erie arrived to remove Walker, but he refused to leave.
In the following five hours, multiple troopers arrived to control the scene, a SERT team was activated, and a warrant was issued to search the house. Before SERT entered the building, Walker finally surrendered to the police. He’s been charged with strangulation, as well as simple assault, terroristic threats, and harassment against the woman who lived there. During the incident, streets were shut down, residents were asked to stay inside their homes, and Harbor Creek School District rerouted school buses to avoid the scene.
