Deadly Encounter Between Horse and Van
Greenville- A runaway horse was hit by a van with fatal results in Mercer County. In Green Township, a 44-year-old man driving a van crested a hill and encountered a galloping horse on East Jamestown Road at about 3:30 a.m. last Friday. By the time the driver saw the animal, a collision was unavoidable, and the horse and van hit head-on. The driver of the van was reported to have suffered no injuries, but his vehicle sustained disabling damage; the horse was killed by the crash.

EPD and ANNA Shelter Investigate New Cruelty Case
Erie – The City of Erie Police, Animal Cruelty Officers, and ANNA Shelter are asking for public assistance in another animal cruelty case resulting in death. A dog named Prince, who was a miniature Australian shepherd adopted from ANNA Shelter in 2024, was found dead in a dumpster on Monday night; the cause of death was a single close-range gunshot.
