Man Pulled from Burning House
Erie – In Erie County, one man was hospitalized after firefighters rescued him from a housefire in Millcreek Township. The fire happened just before 11 a.m. on Monday morning and caused significant smoke damage. The hospitalized man had breathed in too much of the smoke. The cause of the fire was suspected to be electrical issues; it was initially believed to have started from a space heater that was improperly plugged in, but an investigation is underway to determine if that was the official cause. The American Red Cross is assisting the displaced family that lived there.

Polk – Investigators released new details about a homicide at a personal care home in Venango County. 48-year-old Dyan Divens has been charged with criminal homicide and aggravated assault for the death of Mary Gruphofer, who was stabbed multiple times. Divens was allegedly covered in spots of blood and held her hands out for police officers to cuff her; she also made alleged remarks to the effect that she was the killer. Police say that staff reported that Divens had been arguing with Mary for some time because Divens believed the victim had stolen from her.
