Train Hits Car
Greenville – Somehow, injury was avoided when a train collided with a car in Mercer County on Friday. In Hempfield Township, just south of Greenville, local police say that a man was uninjured when a train crashed into the passenger side of his vehicle as he tried to race across the tracks ahead of it.  The driver has not been publicly identified by authorities or first responders. The crash happened on Friday morning.  The train that hit him was not moving very quickly as it was crossing Mercer Road, which may be the only thing that saved his life, as his car was totaled. 

TPD Officer Charged for Cocaine
Edinboro – Titusville Police Department’s newest police officer has been charged with a felony in Erie County after it was discovered he had allegedly sought to purchase cocaine before becoming an officer. 27-year-old James Carlson has been charged with criminal use of communications, a third-degree felony, and two misdemeanors for possession of a controlled substance after a probe by officers in the Edinboro Police Department. The Edinboro PD found communications by Carlson while investigating the Snapchat history of a man arrested with 60 grams of cocaine. Carlson seems to have been de-listed from the Titusville Police Department website, but his current status is unknown.
