Two Charged for Hindering Police
Erie – The Pennsylvania State Police say that they arrested two individuals who attempted to help a wanted fugitive escape custody in Erie County’s Summit Township. Only identified in the report by their ages, 34 and 49, the pair allegedly tried to help a man named Kurt Snyder, who was wanted for multiple crimes. On December 23rd, as troopers were serving a warrant for Snyder’s arrest at a hotel on Perry Highway, the two individuals tried to drive away from the scene in their car while Snyder hid on the floor in the back seat. Both persons were charged with a felony for hindering the apprehension of a fugitive; one of them also received drug-related charges.

Birth Services Being Cancelled at Hospital
Warren – Warren General Hospital has announced it will no longer provide inpatient labor and delivery services as early as next Tuesday. The hospital says its labor and delivery services are only handled by two physicians, and one of those physicians has decided they will not be participating in birthing babies for the foreseeable future. Warren General will instead begin coordinating with UPMC Chautauqua, St. Vincent Hospital, and Hamot Magee-Women’s Hospital. Labor and delivery services will come to an end on Tuesday, January 13th.

Man Charged with Felony for Domestic Dispute
Conneautville – A Conneautville man is charged with multiple crimes, including felony strangulation, after his arrest early Sunday morning. It’s alleged that 36-year-old Frank Weldy strangled a woman and assaulted her 14-year-old son after escalating an argument into a physical confrontation on Saturday night. He has been charged with strangulation, simple assault, terroristic threats, and harassment, and was released from Crawford County Jail on $15,000 bail secured by a bondsman.

Found Property
Corry – The Pennsylvania State Police based in Corry, are searching for the owner of property found at a Wal-Mart Parking Lot. PSP Corry reports that they have taken possession of an envelope filled with an undisclosed amount of cash money. The money was found in the parking lot of a Wal-Mart Supercenter in the Erie area at about 5:30 in the afternoon on December 18th and turned over to a state trooper for safekeeping.
