One Missing Victim Recovered
Fairview – The remains of one of two men who went missing on Lake Erie near Fairview two weeks ago were recovered on Wednesday. A deputy Erie County Coroner identified the remains of Richard Bofo of Pittsburgh after being discovered by some fishermen about five miles offshore. He was identified after being recovered by members of the Lakeshore Fire Department on Wednesday morning. Richard and another man, whose name has not been revealed, went missing while on a Lake Erie excursion on Wednesday, July 2nd, and were unable to be found by rescuers. The US Coast Guard and local first responders searched the lake through the 4th of July weekend looking for the two men.

Florida Man Sentenced to Pennsylvania Prison
Butler – A Florida man was sentenced to at least 2.5 years and up to 20 years in prison in Pennsylvania after pleading guilty to robberies in multiple Western PA counties. 57-year-old Steve Nichols admitted to robbing multiple senior citizens in Erie, Butler, Westmoreland, Indiana, and Lackawanna Counties. Nichols, along with his son and other conspirators, would pose as utility company employees to gain entrance into people’s homes and then steal from them, usually targeting elderly adults in their 80s for their crime spree.
