Deadly Motorcycle Crash
Meadville – One person was killed in Crawford County on Independence Day after a motorcycle hit a car on Route 77. Police say that at approximately 4:30 in the afternoon, a driver only identified as an 89-year-old Meadville resident, failed to clear the intersection at Leslie Road and a stretch of Route 77 known as Blooming Valley Road and pulled into the intersection in front of a man on a motorcycle, causing the crash. The rider of the motorcycle was thrown from their bike and suffered fatal injuries; the driver of the car suffered minor wounds, and a passenger in the car was unharmed. At press time, authorities have not revealed the names of anyone involved in the crash.

Officer Involved Shooting in Erie
Erie – Protesters marched through the weekend after an Erie resident was killed by a state parole officer on Wednesday night. Marchello Woodard was shot and killed at about 10 p.m. on Wednesday by a parole officer whose identity is being concealed by authorities. The officer claims he shot Marchello in self-defense after he was dragged down East 27th Street, saying he identified himself before approaching and touching his car. According to the Pennsylvania State Police, a criminal investigation unit is gathering information about the shooting.
