Driver Escapes Exploding Car
Prospect – A 19-year-old driver fortunately avoided being injured when his car exploded earlier this month. On Thursday, the Pennsylvania State Police reported that on the morning of Sunday, June 8th, in Venango County’s Allegheny Township, a 19-year-old man was driving uphill on Route 227 when the engine of his 1997 Toyota Camry exploded. According to responders, the driver was able to get over to the shoulder of the road and park the car before it caught fire and was completely destroyed.

Two Shot in Mercer County
Greenville – Police in Mercer County report that two people were shot and wounded in some kind of dispute on Saturday. On Brentwood Drive in Pymatuning Township, two people were injured by firearms around 11 p.m. on Saturday night; both victims were taken to a nearby hospital by ambulance for treatment. Authorities did not reveal the names of the victims, and police also did not name a suspect for the shooting or say if they had made any arrests. The Pymatuning Township Police did reveal that they contacted the Pennsylvania State Police to assist in the investigation.
