Fatal Motorcycle Crash
Oil City – One person has died after a collision between a motorcycle and a car in Oil City on Monday Afternoon. Venango County Coroner Christina Rugh confirmed Monday evening that a motorcycle operator died at UPMC Northwest after a crash at the intersection of West 3rd Street and Central Avenue at about 1:30 p.m. At press time, details about the crash have not been released, and the identity of the victim has not been revealed pending the notification of their family.

PennDOT Temporarily Closes Meadville DMV
Meadville – PennDOT announced a temporary closure of the Driver’s License Center in Meadville for repairs and upgrades to the parking lot. The closure begins tomorrow, on Wednesday, June 4th, and the facility will reopen on Wednesday, June 11th. Meadville staff will be temporarily reassigned to the Driver’s License Center in Seneca, and any student drivers with tests scheduled for this week will be contacted to reschedule their tests for the same date at that location. Seneca’s facility will be open this week from Tuesday until Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4:15 p.m.

Wreath’s Across America Visits Region
Franklin – Wreaths Across America’s Mobile Educational Exhibit will touch down at Vintage Wings tomorrow morning. The 48-foot mobile exhibit is carried by a tractor-trailer and spreads information about Wreaths Across America’s mission to remember and honor all of our fallen military veterans and teach the next generation the importance of freedom and service. There is no cost to visit the exhibit, which will be at Vintage Wings from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Hangar Road in Franklin.

School Van Driver Flees Drunken Crash Scene
Pittsburgh – In State News, children and their parents helped Pittsburgh authorities track down the driver of a school van after he allegedly fled the scene of a crash. 66-year-old Jeffrey Irwin. A driver for Baldwin Whitehall School District was charged with DUI, child endangerment, reckless driving, and more after the school transport van he was driving hit another vehicle on Friday afternoon and then fled the scene; some of the five students on board called their parents to report the accident. The parents called the police and tracked their children’s phones to locate the van. One child suffered a mild concussion from the crash, but no other injuries were reported. Irwin allegedly admitted to being drunk to police.
