Rottweiler Rescue in Erie County
Albion – A dog named Chevy was rescued after being trapped under a bridge in fast-moving water on Wednesday. First responders from the Cranesville Fire Department and Lake City Water Rescue worked together for a little more than an hour to save Chevy, who had been trapped under a bridge that crosses Conneaut Creek by the Albion Boro Park. Wednesday afternoon’s heavy rains turned the creek into a fast-moving current of water filled with debris, but no person or dog was injured during the rescue operation. Chevy managed to stay afloat through the ordeal and was pulled from the water safely. They were taken to a veterinarian, exhausted but unharmed.

Road Construction Project Begin Next Week
NWPA – Everyone’s favorite season begins next Monday: road work. PennDOT kicks off two major projects in Northwest PA that are guaranteed to mess with travel schedules starting on Monday, the 16th. Mekis Construction of Fenelton PA, will begin demolition and reconstruction of a bridge carrying Dunham Road over Cussewago Creek between Asbury Manner and Wicked Hollow until October. Current plans involve leaving one lane of the bridge open at a time when possible and will close the creek upstream and downstream of the work zone. Glen O. Hawbaker Construction will begin the second portion of work on Interstate 80 in Mercer County from the Ohio State Line to Mile Marker 5. Work on the project could last until late June.
