Man Found Dead After Fire
Waterford – Strong winds fanned a deadly blaze that killed one person in Waterford on Saturday, and authorities are identifying the body. According to Erie County 911, seven fire departments responded to a fire at an apartment complex on Peach Street at about 4:00 a.m. Saturday morning. The 2nd floor of the building was already completely involved, and the strong winds prevented firefighters from entering, forcing them to fight the fire from outside. The body of a man was found at the scene and pronounced dead just before 9 a.m. At press time, the victim has not been publicly identified.
Body May Be Missing Oil City Man
Oil City – The search for Jason Firster of Oil City may have ended after his mother says his remains were recovered from the Allegheny River, near Polk. Jason was recovered from the river on Monday, and his identity was confirmed by his mother, who says fingerprint and DNA evidence prove that it was her son. Venango County Coroner, Christina Rugh, has not provided a public statement about the body’s identity. Jason Firster had been missing for about two months after falling into the Allegheny River from Wye Bridge on Wednesday, January 7th.
