Four Injured in Workzone Crash
Cochranton – Four people were hospitalized when a 58-year-old driver collided with a utility truck working on downed power lines in East Fairfield Township. On Friday, March 13th, police say that while crews were working to restore utilities, Edwin Peelman of Carlton ignored the instructions of flaggers on the scene and entered a work zone, where he collided with one of the workers’ vehicles. Peelman and his wife, Pamela, were hospitalized, as well as two utility workers who were seriously injured. Police say Peelman was under the influence of a controlled substance and will be charged with DUI.

Scammers Impersonating Police
NWPA – The Pennsylvania State Police are warning of an impersonation scam going around the region. Scammers are impersonating State Troopers and police officers, using spoofed phone numbers,  fake names, and badge numbers to intimidate people into paying fake fines. The Pennsylvania State Police would like to remind the public that the State Police and/or other government agencies will never ask you for credit, debit, or gift card numbers, bank routing numbers, or to make a wire transfer or cryptocurrency transaction. If you are contacted by anyone you suspect is a scammer, hang up and call the police.
